Chapter 651: My Guardians~
Chapter 651: My Guardians~
Ash, Elysia, Nia, Ouroboros, and Primordia appeared high above the battlefield.
The scene before them was pure devastation.
Eve and Eliya’s company teetered on the brink of total ruin.
What had once been a resilient force clinging to hope was now nothing more than a ragged cluster of survivors, huddled together behind the crumbling golden-white gate.
And just like before, it was only Eve and Eliya who still stood their ground, fighting on while everything else seemed to fall apart around them.
Eve moved with sharp, precise strikes, her golden constructs flashing as she fought to hold the line.
Beside her, Eliya battled fiercely, sweeping her spear in wide arcs and unfurling her wings, the white flames she conjured burning through clusters of enemies.
But even together, they were being forced back.
Once, the Origin’s Essence had been more than enough to close the gap these creatures, tipping the scales in their favor.
But since the arrival of Sylas, Konquest, and the Horrors radiating overwhelming power, there was no way to bridge so many states of existence.
Especially since they were bound by an external power system that only continued to reveal how rigid it truly was.
And through it all, the Divine Horrors pressed forward with unrelenting ferocity.
ROARRRRR!!!!!!!
"Eliya!!!!"
Eve’s desperate cry cut through the chaos as she saw the attack coming. But by the time it reached Eliya’s ears.... it was far too late.
A colossal Horror with a body made of writhing, golden-veined flesh opened its maw wide and unleashed a deafening roar.
The sound wave slammed into Eliya like a physical hammer.
Her twelve majestic white wings shattered instantly, exploding into clouds of golden feathers that scattered uselessly into the void.
"AHRRGHHH!!!"
Eliya screamed in pain, her body spinning wildly out of control.
Before she could steady herself, another Horror formed a massive, jagged construct of corrupted divinity and smashed it into her side.
BOOOOOOM!!!!!!
The impact sent her flying like a broken doll.
She tumbled through the air for miles, crashing through floating debris and ruined structures before disappearing into the distant madness of the battlefield.
At the same moment, the company behind the golden-white gate let out a collective scream of terror as the enormous foot covered in millions of blinking eyes came crashing down.
BOOOOOOM!!!!!!!
CRRRAAAAACKKKK!!!!!
With one devastating blow, the gate burst apart, sending shards of gold and white flying in a dazzling explosion as the barrier gave way entirely.
*At this point show the actual conversational scenes of the warriors.*
The warriors still standing let out cries of sheer terror and confusion, their voices lost in the chaos, as the wave of monstrosities rushed in, eager to consume everything in their path.
Eve gritted her teeth, her expression hardening with grim determination.
She shot forward at full speed, throwing herself directly into the path of the next devastating blow meant for her company.
HUMMMMM!!!!!
She raised both hands, pouring every ounce of her power as a Greater Idea into one final, desperate barrier.
From high above the battlefield, Primordia watched the entire scene unfold. She tilted her head slightly, her long red-and-lavender hair swaying in the chaotic winds.
"Are we just going to watch?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.
She watched Ash stand there, utterly at ease, without the slightest hint of strain, and felt certain whatever was happening was well within his control.
There was no doubt he meant to act, yet what form that action would take remained a complete mystery to her.
He hadn’t so much as twitched, offered no signal, no sign of his intentions. Ash stayed perfectly still, silent, his expression unreadable.
Then, with a single blink, everything on the battlefield came to an abrupt halt.
Every Divine Horror, every screaming warrior, every explosion and shockwave — everything within his line of sight came to a complete, unnatural halt.
The only ones still able to move were Eve and Eliya.
Ash began walking forward through the air, his steps calm and unhurried as if he were strolling through a garden.
His voice carried clearly across the frozen chaos.
"Well, I did plan on doing something a little over the top," he said casually, his tone light. "But... things just haven’t gotten exciting enough yet."
In truth, the only reason he hadn’t acted was because he was waiting for a particular chain of events to fall into place before finally getting rid of this place, which he now saw as utterly useless.
At this stage, it was worth noting that he no longer needed to gather affection to climb in rank.
One of the benefits of his newly achieved Divine Absolute Imperfection was the ability to dictate his own state of existence.
This meant he could place himself at any rank he had created above his current position as Reality Hegemon.
Still, the only thing truly holding him back, the only thing that mattered to him now, was the sixth wall.
Anything unrelated to that or the Unknown held no potential to grant him any further power. And so, he continued forward at his steady, unhurried pace.
"And I definitely don’t want my lovely wives getting hurt any more than they already have."
Hearing the depth in his voice, Eve was the first spot him.
High above, his silhouette was stark against the chaos of ice and snow. Her golden eyes lifted toward him as she murmured softly, barely more than a breath.
"You..."
Eliya, mid-flight on her way back to the shattered gate, slowed until she hovered still in the air.
Her pale eyes widened in surprise as she caught sight of him.
Folding her arms across her chest in an attempt to keep her composure, her tone betrayed the irritation beneath.
"Tch... finally decided to show up, huh? Took you long enough, you bastard."
Ash smiled, the expression soft yet carrying that familiar confidence.
He blinked once more, and in that fleeting moment, every wound and trace of conflict vanished as he drifted gracefully down toward them.
He touched down softly before Eve, the folds of his loose black clothing swaying gently with the motion.
A moment later, Eliya followed, landing beside her companion with a faint, exhaled huff.
Ash regarded them both, then casually gestured toward the frightened group still crouched behind the broken remains of the golden-white gate.
"Do you truly care for these beings?" he asked, his tone even and filled with genuine curiosity.
