Chapter 404 404: Bring Back Shanks’ Head
Chapter 404 404: Bring Back Shanks’ Head
Early morning.
Grand Line, beneath the Red Line.
The two enormous fleets that had crossed through the East Blue and South Blue finally converged from afar. Hundreds of Revolutionary Army ships gathered together beneath the towering continent.
Standing on the highest deck, Dragon raised his head and stared expressionlessly at the endless Red Line before him.
In front of those cliff walls that stretched tens of thousands of meters high, the Revolutionary Army's hundreds of ships appeared incredibly tiny. And the people standing aboard them seemed even smaller, like ants...
But even ants could let out a roar of resistance.
Karasu walked over wearing his black feathered cloak and carrying a bird-beak loudspeaker.
"Everyone is prepared. We can depart at any moment."
Dragon gave a slight nod and spoke in a deep voice. "So they all know already."
His gaze swept across the countless faces staring at him from ship after ship. Within those eyes burned towering fury.
Fury directed toward the "gods"...
Karasu also spoke heavily. "The fall of forty-seven islands couldn't possibly be hidden."
The Revolutionary Army itself was made up of people from all over the world. The elites gathered here came from every sea. With the World Government launching attacks on such a massive scale, there was simply no way to keep the news hidden.
Although they had expected this, the World Government's counterattack had truly come quickly...
Dragon fell silent for a moment before speaking again, "Prepare yourselves."
His body turned into a gust of wind and scattered away.
Karasu picked up the communicator in his hand, his voice echoing simultaneously across the hundreds of ships.
"All ships, deploy side wings and secure yourselves to anything nearby. Prepare!!!"
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
The calm sea suddenly erupted with a strange violent gale. The wind spiraled around the massive gathered fleet as an enormous tornado slowly formed...
Three ships. Nine ships. Seventeen ships...
Those vessels raised their sails and unfolded their modified side wings as they surged into the sky in groups, charging directly into the clouds...
* * *
Morning, Holy Land of Mariejois.
The Five Elders had just sent someone to summon Kong when they suddenly felt the ground tremble.
Ripples spread across the cups on the table. Deafening rumbling echoed through the palace while a dangerous aura stimulated their nerves.
The elders exchanged glances. Without waiting for the agents to arrive, they immediately walked outside.
The moment they pushed open the palace doors, what entered their sight was an incomparably massive tornado approaching from the distance, wrapped in thunderclouds and lightning...
The deafening roar spread alongside Dragon's voice, echoing through the heavens and across all of Mariejois...
"Great warriors of the Revolutionary Army!
"Perhaps gods truly exist in this world! But they are absolutely not those nobles below who call themselves gods!!!
"We may fail! But our will shall be passed down generation after generation! Our flame will never die!
"This world will inevitably welcome the dawn of victory!
"A thousand years from now, people will still remember this very moment, here in this so-called land of the gods!!!
"That there was once a group of mortals who wagered their lives against these 'gods'!!!
"And carried out judgment!!!!"
As his final words fell, the gathered thunderclouds exploded with lightning and thunder. They transformed into a gigantic thunder dragon that crashed directly toward the enormous palace representing the Five Elders...
Below, Nusjuro instantly drew his blade and a streak of sword light flashed across the sky.
The enormous thunder dragon split into two halves before crashing down onto Mariejois. Exploding lightning surged wildly in every direction.
Immediately afterward, countless flying ships charged in from behind and smashed toward various parts of the city...
One Revolutionary Army ship after another dove downward, crushing buildings and houses throughout Mariejois. Revolutionary soldiers carrying rifles leaped from the vessels.
The assault against the "gods" had begun…
* * *
Boom!
A deafening explosion erupted.
The sound came from the skies tens of thousands of meters above and spread all the way to the already evacuated Marine Headquarters...
Standing by the fortress wall, Sakazuki looked toward the direction of the Red Line as the thunderous noise echoed across the sea.
"So it has already begun."
Boom!
Garp crashed down from the distance and landed there. Sakazuki slightly frowned.
Unable to hold himself back anymore, Garp asked, "We can leave now, right, Sakazuki?"
Sakazuki answered indifferently, "Why are you in such a hurry? The battle has only just started. With Dragon's abilities, he won't die anytime soon."
Hearing that, Garp's expression darkened as he glanced at Sakazuki.
Without the slightest hesitation, he turned and left. It was obvious he had prepared himself long ago. The moment he stepped forward, his body shot out like a sharp blade. Stepping through the air, he rushed toward Mariejois.
Soon after, Sengoku landed atop the fortress and looked toward the departing Garp.
"Hey! Garp!!!"
His expression also sank as he turned toward Sakazuki.
"When are we leaving?"
Sakazuki's calm voice rang out again. "If you can't wait, then go with him. You've been a Marine your entire life. Don't tell me a couple days of rest made you forget how to fight."
Sengoku took a deep breath and stared deeply at Sakazuki before turning toward the direction Garp had left.
With one step, he also rushed off.
A long while later...
Whoosh!
Carlo appeared atop the fortress. After sensing the surroundings with Observation Haki, he looked somewhat surprised.
"Not here?"
Sakazuki spoke calmly. "Is the person ready?"
Carlo lightly nodded. "Mm."
Since they weren't here...
Whoosh!
His figure vanished instantly, then immediately reappeared.
This time, there was an unconscious young man wearing a straw hat in his hand.
Sakazuki spread out his Observation Haki and sensed the youth's aura.
"Interesting..."
The aura was deep and vast. It was already no weaker than the top combat forces within Headquarters.
But that was merely his aura and the energy inside his body. In actual combat, he was still far behind.
Carlo explained, "It's different from Paramecia-type fruits with rule-based abilities. As long as the energy of this kind of Zoan reaches a certain level, it can break through the body's limits and awaken.
"But this guy's fruit is especially abnormal… We practically drained all the nutrient solution on Egghead Island just to force him to mature into this state.
"According to the data tests, he's already reached the critical point. Now all we need to do is wake him up, remove the Seastone chains, and stimulate him a little. Once the enormous energy inside his body combines with emotional fluctuations, he'll awaken directly."
Sakazuki let out a faint chuckle. "Send this brat to Soter first so he can reunite with his friends. And bring Red Hair's head along with him…"
