Chapter 187: Overdrive - Release

Andrey gripped his Ruyi Jingu Bang tightly and channeled his Overdrive-enhanced power into it. The staff extended rapidly, growing several meters long as he swung it with massive force.

"Take this!"

The enlarged staff slammed into the main body of the Pink Slime with a thunderous impact, creating a huge dent and sending ripples through its gelatinous form. However, the core remained intact, and the slime quickly regenerated the damage.

Before Andrey could follow up, the Pink Slime retaliated by spraying a wide arc of corrosive pink acid toward him. Andrey dodged to the side using his enhanced speed, the acid melting the ground where he had just stood.

He moved like a blur, using his increased agility to weave through the battlefield. He drew his pistol and fired several Ki-infused shots at the smaller slimes, causing them to explode violently before they could reach the others.

"Sein, cover the left side!" he shouted.

He attempted to use Mana Thread to bind the main slime’s movements, but the threads dissolved upon contact with its corrosive body.

"Tch!"

Andrey extended his staff again to maximum length, aiming directly for the glowing core.

"Piercing Strike!"

The staff shot forward like a spear, but the Pink Slime shifted its body at the last second, causing the strike to miss the core by a narrow margin.

The slime immediately counterattacked from two directions at once, one tentacle from the front and another from below. Andrey tried to dodge, but the attacks came too fast and from blind spots.

Just as the tentacles were about to hit him, a bright mint-green barrier suddenly appeared, blocking the attacks.

"Aegis of Dawn!"

Lisa, Sarah, and Hope had been freed. Sein had burned through the tentacles holding them with precise, controlled flames.

Sarah floated up, breathing heavily. "We’re back in the fight!"

Hope raised her greatsword. "Thanks, Sein!"

Lisa reinforced the barrier around Andrey. "We’ve got your back!"

Sein smirked, flames roaring around her. "Don’t thank me. Just don’t slow me down."

Andrey nodded gratefully, his white hair still glowing from Overdrive as he prepared for the next exchange. The Pink Slime pulsed angrily, regenerating and spawning more smaller slimes.

Andrey stood at the front, his white hair glowing from Overdrive, staff ready. "I’ll tank the hits. Focus on destroying the core!"

Sein charged in with blazing flames. "Crimson Cataclysm!" A massive explosion of golden-crimson fire engulfed a large portion of the Pink Slime, burning through its outer layer.

Sarah floated above, unleashing Pink Rain to slow the smaller slimes and weaken the main body. "Take this!"

Hope swung her greatsword with powerful strikes, Radiant Judgment, cutting through tentacles and smaller slimes while protecting the team’s flank.

Lisa maintained a strong Aegis of Dawn barrier around the group, healing minor wounds and boosting their mana regeneration.

The Pink Slime retaliated fiercely. It swelled and sprayed corrosive acid in wide arcs while spawning more exploding clones. Several tentacles lashed out toward the team.

Andrey stepped forward, absorbing the heaviest attacks with Damage Absorb. Acid splashed against his body, tentacles slammed into him, but he held his ground, storing every hit.

"Keep attacking!" he shouted, his voice steady despite the damage.

The others used the opening. Sein burned through the clones, Sarah focused fire on the main body, and Hope delivered crushing blows to destroy the cores of the smaller slimes.

The Pink Slime screeched in anger, its core pulsing violently as it tried to overwhelm them with numbers and explosions. But with Andrey acting as a solid shield at the front, the team was able to attack safely and effectively.

Andrey’s staff extended again, striking the main body while his body absorbed more damage. The stored energy was building up rapidly.

Sein grinned fiercely. "We’re wearing it down!"

Sarah fired another barrage. "Just a little more!"

The Pink Slime let out a deafening screech as its body swelled to massive proportions, glowing with unstable pink energy. It was preparing a final, devastating attack.

Andrey, still in Overdrive with his white hair flowing and aura blazing, stood at the front. His Damage Absorb was completely full, the stored energy burning inside him like a second heart.

"Everyone, give me everything you’ve got!" he shouted. "One final strike!"

Sein’s flames roared to their peak. "Crimson Cataclysm – MAX OUTPUT!"

Sarah raised her staff high. "Heartstorm Apocalypse!"

Hope swung her greatsword with all her might. "Radiant Judgment!"

Lisa focused her power into one massive barrier. "Aegis of Dawn – FULL DEPLOYMENT!"

Andrey channeled all his stored damage into his Ruyi Jingu Bang. The staff extended to its maximum length, glowing with blinding golden-white light.

"Overdrive... RELEASE!"

He swung with all his might. The staff smashed into the Pink Slime’s core with devastating force, releasing all the accumulated damage in a single, explosive strike.

BOOM!!

The combined attacks of the entire team struck the Pink Slime simultaneously. The massive explosion of pink, crimson, golden, and mint-green light engulfed the entire chamber.

The Pink Slime let out one final, earsplitting screech before its body shattered into countless particles of light, its core completely destroyed.

Silence fell over the battlefield.

Andrey stood at the center, his white hair slowly returning to its original brown as Overdrive’s effects faded. He breathed heavily, the staff still extended in his hand.

Sein landed nearby, flames dying down. "Hah... finally..."

Sarah floated down, exhausted but grinning. "We did it..."

Hope sheathed her greatsword, smiling brightly. "Amazing teamwork, everyone!"

Lisa let out a relieved sigh, her barrier fading. "Everyone’s okay...."

Andrey’s body suddenly swayed. The exhaustion from Overdrive hit him like a wave. His vision blurred, and his legs gave out beneath him.

"Andrey!" Lisa rushed to his side, catching him before he hit the ground.

Hope was there instantly, her expression full of concern. "Are you okay?! That skill—what was that?!"

Sarah knelt down, looking worried. "Hey... don’t push yourself too hard."

Sein stood nearby, arms crossed, but her eyes showed genuine concern. "Tch... you’re too reckless."

Andrey forced a tired smile. "Just... need a moment..."
