Chapter 207 Extra: Death Line 4
Chapter 207 Extra: Death Line 4
"How did you manage to win Americh over?" Thaddeus asked, inviting Americh out to a secluded corner. He was genuinely curious.
"No, we like each other." Taking advantage of Severus's absence, Emeric embellished his story, making their relationship seem incredibly touching.
Thaddeus didn't believe a word of it. Did he not know how much nonsense he was spouting? After thinking for a while, he took out a black gem and handed it over, his heart bleeding.
"Ah~, I think I remember something," Emeric was especially happy, he could make a new brooch for Severus when he got back, "I liked him when I was thirteen, and stayed by his side for more than three years. It was only after Voldemort was defeated that Severus started thinking about these things."
He thought for a moment and then said, "Voldemort should be dead in your timeline. Our situation is different, so I guess you won't need his help." He then gave her a helpless look, not because he didn't want to help.
"That's not what I'm asking you. What does your Severus like to eat? What are his little quirks?" Thaddeus wasn't surprised at all. His situation was completely different from Emeric's, so it was perfectly normal for Severus to be different from Snape.
"Well, Severus doesn't like being lied to. You have to tell him whatever decision you make and give him a sense of security. Also, you have to apologize first after an argument, and Severus will soften. You can also help him with his homework..." Emeric was very experienced when he mentioned this, as it was all based on his experience over the years.
After explaining the general way they get along, he started rambling on, "Severus likes spicy, cold, and sweet food, and he also likes things with lots of spices. But he has a bad stomach and likes to endure it by himself, so we can't let him eat too much. Oh, by the way, you'd better learn to cook, the food at Hogwarts is really awful."
As he spoke, Emeric felt like he had forgotten something. After racking his brains for a while, he finally remembered. "You should have found out about Lily Evans. I just resurrected her and let them have a good talk. There was no love between them, Harry, you don't need to worry about it."
"Resurrection?" Thaddeus narrowed his eyes, not expecting that "himself" would be willing to risk his life for an outsider.
"Hmm, I forgot to ask you. In Gellert's prophecy, I didn't understand that mercy would eventually return to nature. How have you managed to survive until now?" Emeric was very curious. He had gained Albania's approval, so the prophecy was lifted, but how did Thaddeus manage to do it?
"I don't know," Thaddeus shook his head. He didn't know why either, and could only offer his guess. "Maybe the tree in the ancestral land did something; it hasn't borne fruit for several years." Emeric nodded, which was roughly the same as his guess.
"Let's go, we should head back. The second period at Hogwarts is almost over, and if we don't leave soon we'll run into a lot of junior wizards. It's not appropriate for the two of us to appear in front of outsiders," Emeric suggested, glancing at the time.
----------
"You're back." Severus looked up at the door and asked Emeric to come over and massage his neck. He had been reading a lot these past few days and his neck was feeling uncomfortable.
"Alright, I wonder when we can go back." Emeric sighed.
"Who knows? Hopefully Merlin will find out soon." Severus also felt a headache coming on. He could only hope that the flow of time was the same on both sides. He didn't want to go back and find that the cellar had been occupied by someone else.
The two stayed in the cellar for a week. Severus felt like he was going to die. Every day he would either eat or lie around, and at most he would look at the little trolls' papers.
He finally couldn't stand it anymore, put the cat in his pocket, and prepared to go out for a stroll to see if any young wizards dared to date in the garden, so he could use Snape's name to deduct points from them.
The layouts of the two Hogwarts were similar. Severus walked in the shadows, ready to give them a fright. This was his favorite way to relax, not to mention he had Emeric in his pocket, which he could find anywhere.
"Meow~" (Left side)
"Gryffindor loses 10 points, Hufflepuff loses 10 points."
Apart from Slytherin, the scores of the other three houses were almost at rock bottom. Severus breathed a sigh of relief, feeling his recent frustration disappear.
"Let's go, we should go back." He patted the cat's head on the outside of his pocket and slowly walked towards the cellar.
After lunch, Severus suddenly heard a "tick-tock" sound, very similar to the one he had encountered before. At the same time, Emeric looked at him, clearly indicating that it was almost time for them to go home.
"Perhaps we should leave them something?" Emeric suggested, as he pulled out a stack of recipes and various seasonings, seemingly for Thaddeus.
Severus pondered for a moment, then suddenly had a brilliant idea: a user guide for the flower on the cat's head. He had done quite a few experiments on this, and it could even trick Thaddeus—it couldn't be better.
Finally, the two left a note on the table, telling Thaddeus and Snape where they were going. After all, they had been together for so long, they should at least let him know.
