Chapter 7 Chess VS Natsu
Chapter 7 Chess VS Natsu
"Feed Chess! Tell me quickly what that dragon looks like!"
Lucy only snapped out of her daze and slowly stood up when Natsu's familiar voice rang out.
Looking up, I saw Natsu rush to Chess in a few strides, grab Chess by the collar and shake him, spitting as he spoke.
Chase was having a lot of headaches because of his impulsive and rash personality.
To get rid of this guy's persistent pestering, he found a table to sit down at and, surrounded by the Fairy Tail members, began to describe the scene in a way that downplayed the seriousness of the situation.
Although he deliberately concealed the name Ignia and emphasized the terror of the dragon with great seriousness, Natsu, after listening, did not stand there stunned with shock like his other companions. Instead, he waved to Happy and hurriedly walked towards the guild gate.
"Harpy! Let's go, to the continent of Giltina. That fire dragon definitely knows about Ignir!"
"like!"
Without a word, Harpy spread his wings and followed.
His companions were all taken aback and rushed forward to persuade him.
Going into contact with such an extremely dangerous monster without any preparation is simply courting death!
But Natsu, desperate to find his father, didn't care about anything else and wouldn't listen to anything anyone said.
"Feed Naz," Chess said calmly.
"Chess, are you trying to stop me too?" Natsu pushed away Elfman's pull and turned to look at Chess.
"I won't do that. It's your freedom to go wherever you want."
Chess shrugged. "But the continent of Giltina is so vast, don't you want to know the exact location where that fire dragon appeared?"
Upon hearing this, Natsu, who had already stepped out the door, immediately turned around.
Just as he was about to ask, Chase, amidst the puzzled looks of everyone, picked up an ant from a crack in the floor tiles and placed it on the table: "Ask it."
Fairy Tail members: Σ(゚д゚lll)?
An ant with breadcrumbs in its mouth: (´・ω・`)
"What a joke! You bastard Chase, are you kidding me? It's just an ordinary ant!"
Natsu seemed genuinely angry. He yelled and swung his hand back, unleashing scorching flames that burned the poor little ant to ashes.
"This is the answer it gave, Natsu."
Seeing that Natsu had indeed taken the bait, Chess sat up slightly.
He blew the charred ant corpses into powder in one breath, then calmly looked up to meet Natsu's angry gaze.
"This ant is me back then, and you are that fire dragon of unknown origin."
"Monsters with overwhelming power will not give weaklings like ants a chance to speak, let alone exchange information."
"I don't know what kind of personality Igniel you're talking about, but that violent monster would never be friendly with humans."
Hearing Chess's words, Natsu felt as if he had been doused with a bucket of cold water. The veins that had been bulging on his forehead gradually subsided, and his mood instantly became dejected.
He wanted to insist and argue, but his actions had blocked all avenues for retreat.
Unless he's insane, there's no way he could sit down and have a conversation with an ant...
Seeing that the desired effect had been achieved, Chess stood up with a smile and patted Natsu on the shoulder.
Instead of running around like a headless fly, try to become stronger.
"When you are able to defeat me, I will tell you the exact location where that red dragon appeared."
Having said that, Chess ignored Natsu, who was hanging his head in a state of confusion, and started walking back to his residence in Magnolia.
As Makarov could see, he was indeed quite exhausted after fighting Igunia and traveling for two days and two nights.
But he hadn't gone far when a scorching heat swept over him from behind, raising the temperature around him by several degrees.
"Hehe, so in other words, all I need to do is defeat you right now, right?!"
Natsu regained his energy, a signature confident smile on his lips, his right fist blazing with flames.
"Mr. Chase said so much, but you only listened to his last sentence..."
Along with Natsu's Dragon Slayer Magic, Lucy's sarcastic spirit also burned fiercely.
She sighed deeply, holding her forehead, unable to bear the sight.
"Natsu has always had such an adorable way of doing things~"
A sweet voice reached Lucy's ears, and she turned to look, only to see that Mira had somehow appeared beside her.
"Is it... cute?"
Lucy's lips twitched involuntarily; she really couldn't agree with it.
"Mmm!" Miran nodded emphatically with a smile.
Lucy glanced at Natsu, who was eagerly brandishing his fiery fist, and asked with some concern, "Seriously, shouldn't we stop Natsu? The guild will definitely be completely destroyed, won't it?"
This time, unlike Mr. Chess's casual greeting when he first returned, she could clearly sense that Natsu was really serious!
The devastation at the port of Harujon is still vivid in my mind.
"No need. Although Natsu is very strong, there is still a big gap between him and S-class. Chess will definitely not let him do whatever he wants."
Mila maintained her smile and appeared quite confident.
"Speaking of S-class, Mira, you went up to the second floor just now, right?" Lucy blinked her beautiful big eyes and asked curiously.
According to the guild master, only S-rank mages are allowed on the second floor. So, what about this seemingly harmless Mira...?
"That's right, don't let my appearance fool you, I'm also an S-class mage from Fairy Tail," Mira chuckled, tilting her head, adding, "Although I'm nowhere near as good as Chess and the others."
"Huh?!!" Lucy exclaimed in surprise.
"But Lucy, you're still a newbie. It's a bit too early for you to try and get an S-rank position. Focus on completing more missions first."
"...So I really do seem like such an ambitious guy?!"
Lucy, looking bewildered and ashamed, pointed to herself.
Boom!
The sudden explosion interrupted their conversation.
Looking up, one could see that a large hole had been smashed into the wall on the side of the guild, with wood chips flying everywhere.
On the street outside the hole, Natsu, his eyes glazed over, lay amidst a pile of broken tables and chairs, questioning the meaning of life.
With just one strike, Chase completely rendered him incapable of resistance!
"So fast, they lost way too quickly! And..."
Seeing the mess at the guild, Lucy couldn't help but complain, "This is way too much!"
Natsu certainly didn't have a chance to cause trouble, but Mr. Chess turned out to be the most dangerous troublemaker!
As soon as she said it, Lucy realized something was wrong and quickly covered her mouth.
Unfortunately, it was too late; I could already hear the sound of self-reproachful sobs.
"Waaaaah, Chase hasn't been back for so long, I subconsciously ignored him. I'm sorry, Lucy, I should have listened to you and stopped them in time..."
Mira covered her face with her hands, tears streaming down her face through her pale fingers.
"No, it's not your fault, Mira!"
Lucy panicked and frantically tried to comfort him.
